Flexling is a language learning app built around real sentences and spaced repetition — the same algorithm as Anki. Unlike traditional apps, you can learn hands-free while commuting, exercising, or doing chores with Shadowing.

It also lets you add your own content, so you learn the sentences you actually care about.

Flexling gives you three ways to learn the same sentences: Shadowing, Writing, and Radio.

With Shadowing, you hear a sentence in a language you already know, get a moment to translate it in your head, then hear and say the target sentence aloud — hands-free if you like.

With Writing, you type and get instant, character-level feedback on spelling — either translating a sentence you hear in your language, or transcribing exactly what you hear in the target language to train listening comprehension. Radio simply plays sentences and their translations in the background for passive listening.

What makes Flexling special is that if you don't understand a sentence or have any question, you can ask the AI — like "How can I say this more politely?" or "Give me 3 more examples with this verb in a different tense." — and it automatically creates new flashcards with audio for you.

Yes, in three ways: type them in one at a time, bulk-import from a CSV, TSV, or pasted spreadsheet (Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets), or ask the AI to create them through chat.

For bulk import you just map the columns in your file to your course languages and Flexling handles the rest — audio and metadata are generated automatically.

Fluency depends on many factors: the language, your native language, daily practice time, and learning methods.

The goal of Flexling is to give you all the tools you need to learn it as fast as possible. For instance Flexling teaches you new words in the order they appear most commonly. This way you can become fluent faster in more contexts because you learn the most frequent words first.

However, Flexling is not a full language course but rather the most efficient companion to one. If you already know the basic grammar or are currently doing a course, Flexling is likely the right app for you.
